Last Day to Buy Shares for Dividends from Arfin India and Others

Investors looking to benefit from dividend payouts by several Indian companies should be aware that the deadline to hold shares is September 23. Shri Venkatesh Refineries, Engineers India, Arfin India Limited, and Adtech Systems Limited have all announced September 24 as their dividend record date. This means shareholders recorded on that date will qualify for the declared dividend distributions.

In the Indian stock market, the transaction settlement cycle operates on a T+1 basis. This implies that any purchase made on September 23 will settle on September 24, making it the final day for investors to buy shares and be eligible for the dividend. Acquiring shares after this date will not qualify for the upcoming dividend payments.

Here is the dividend payout information for the four companies:

  • Adtech Systems Limited: Declared a final dividend of Rs. 1.10 per share, with the record date set for September 24, 2026.
  • Arfin India Limited: Announced an interim dividend of Rs. 0.12 per share, also with a record date of September 24, 2026.
  • Engineers India Limited: Set a final dividend of Rs. 2.50 per share, with the eligibility date on September 24, 2026.
  • Shri Venkatesh Refineries Limited: Declared a final dividend of Rs. 1.00 per share, with the record date the same day.

Companies designate a record date to determine which shareholders qualify for corporate actions such as dividends, bonus issues, or stock splits. To receive these benefits, investors must own the shares before or on the record date, depending on the settlement cycle in place. In India’s T+1 settlement system, buying shares one day before the record date ensures eligibility.

Turning to the broader market context, the Indian stock market showed signs of volatility on September 23. This followed a pause after the Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex indices ended their four-day winning run in the previous session. The Nifty 50 chart displayed a bearish candlestick pattern, indicating increased selling pressure at elevated price levels.

Pabitro Mukherjee, Deputy Vice President of Research at Bajaj Broking, provided insight into the market’s current behavior. He noted that over the last five trading sessions, the Nifty has been consolidating within a range defined by a sizable bearish candle formed the previous Tuesday. This pattern suggests the market is digesting recent declines and is likely to continue trading within a broad band between 23,115 and 23,650 points in the near term.

Mukherjee further explained that the 23,600 to 23,650 range acts as a significant resistance zone. This area coincides with last week’s highs and the recent breakdown level. For the market to stabilize and signal a potential pause in the downward momentum, the Nifty index must sustain a pattern of higher highs and higher lows, reclaiming the 23,650 level.

On the downside, if the index falls below the previous week’s low of 23,115, it could resume its corrective phase, potentially pushing the benchmark toward support levels around 23,000 and 22,800. Investors should watch these technical levels closely in the coming sessions.

For shareholders interested in securing dividend payouts from Shri Venkatesh Refineries, Engineers India, Arfin India, and Adtech Systems, the key takeaway is clear: hold the shares by the end of trading on September 23. After this date, new buyers will miss the dividend opportunity despite any later purchases.

Dividend announcements often influence trading activity around record dates, as investors adjust their positions to capture income or avoid price drops post-ex-dividend. These four companies’ dividends add to the broader trend of firms distributing earnings to shareholders as the financial year progresses.

Investors should stay informed about record dates and settlement rules to ensure they meet eligibility criteria for dividends and other corporate actions. This awareness helps optimize portfolio returns in a market environment that can shift rapidly due to economic data, corporate results, and global events.
