Accenture Surpasses Q4 Revenue Targets, Forecasts 3-6% Growth for FY27

Accenture, the world’s leading IT services provider, announced stronger-than-expected financial results for the fourth quarter, along with an optimistic growth forecast for the fiscal year 2027. The company projects revenue growth between 3 and 6 percent for FY27, improving on its earlier estimate of 2 to 5 percent for the recently ended fiscal year. This outlook offers some reassurance about the IT sector’s prospects amid ongoing economic pressures and the impact of artificial intelligence on traditional revenue models.

For the full fiscal year, Accenture posted revenue of $74.2 billion, marking a 6 percent increase in dollar terms. The fourth quarter alone saw revenues rise 6 percent in U.S. dollars and 7 percent when measured in local currencies, reaching $18.7 billion. This figure exceeded the company’s guidance range of $17.7 to $18.4 billion.

Julie Sweet, Accenture’s chairperson and CEO, highlighted the company’s achievements in a statement: "We exceeded our fourth-quarter revenue guidance range and capped off another year of broad-based growth across our business, and reached a new high of 141 quarterly client bookings of $100 million or more." This milestone reflects strong demand for Accenture’s services and ongoing client engagement.

Consulting remains a vital part of Accenture’s business, contributing roughly half of total revenue. In the fourth quarter, consulting revenue reached $9.3 billion, surpassing analysts’ expectations. The strongest growth came from the communications, media, and technology sectors, which expanded by 10 percent, followed by health and public service at 8 percent. Geographically, the Americas led the growth with a 7 percent rise in revenue, underscoring the region’s importance to Accenture’s business.

Accenture’s performance is often seen as an indicator of broader trends in the IT services industry. Its ability to beat revenue guidance could provide some confidence to Indian IT firms and others that deal flow and bookings may improve despite economic uncertainties. The company reported new bookings of $22.2 billion for the quarter, a 4 percent increase, suggesting sustained client investment in digital transformation projects.

Managed services, another key segment, grew 7 percent, outpacing consulting revenue growth in the quarter. Regionally, revenue in Asia-Pacific rose 3 percent, while Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) recorded a 6 percent increase. These figures reflect steady demand across multiple markets despite global economic headwinds.

Accenture’s workforce also expanded, with total headcount increasing by 15,652 to 814,391 employees as of the end of August. The company reported quarterly voluntary attrition at 13 percent. Notably, Accenture has significantly grown its AI and data capabilities, now employing roughly 110,000 professionals in these fields. This surpasses its target to double the AI and data workforce from 40,000 to 80,000 over three years, signaling a strategic focus on emerging technologies.

The IT services sector has faced challenges due to a slower global economy and shifting client priorities, especially with the rise of AI disrupting traditional service lines. Accenture’s results suggest that companies investing in digital innovation and consulting can still achieve growth even as the industry adapts to new market dynamics. The company’s strong bookings and client engagement indicate ongoing opportunities in cloud computing, AI integration, and industry-specific digital strategies.

Looking ahead, Accenture’s forecast of 3 to 6 percent revenue growth in FY27 reflects cautious optimism but also confidence in its diversified portfolio and ability to deliver advanced technology services. As businesses continue to prioritize digital transformation, firms like Accenture that combine consulting expertise with technology innovation are likely to remain key players in the evolving IT landscape.
