NCC Secures ₹1,286 Crore Telangana Road Project, Shares Rise 5%

NCC Limited, a prominent player in the civil construction sector, reported a significant contract win from Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited. The company received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for a major road construction project in Telangana valued at ₹1,286.03 crore. This announcement triggered a notable increase in NCC’s stock price, which climbed approximately 5 percent during trading on October 9, 2026.

On Friday, NCC shares opened with a 4 percent gain, trading at ₹125 per share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The stock continued its upward momentum, reaching an intraday high of ₹127.74. By around 1 PM, the share price settled slightly lower but remained up 3.3 percent at ₹123.88, with nearly 14 million shares exchanged on the NSE.

The broader market was also on the rise, with the Nifty 50 index advancing 278 points or 1.25 percent to reach 22,510. This market context provided additional support for NCC’s positive stock performance on the day.

According to the official exchange filing, the awarded project involves constructing Radial Road-2. The road will extend from the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Budwel to Nacharam on National Highway 167N, covering Package-1 which runs from Budwel to Shabad in Telangana. The company has committed to executing the project within an eight-month timeframe starting from the date of the contract award.

This contract win marks an important development for NCC, which has faced challenges in recent periods. The company’s shares have lagged behind the broader market across multiple time spans. Data from the NSE shows NCC’s stock declined by 15 percent over the past month alone. Year-to-date performance reveals a 24 percent drop in share value, while the stock has slid 41 percent over the last twelve months. Over a three-year horizon, the stock has lost about 20 percent of its value.

NCC operates in the infrastructure and construction sector, a critical industry supporting India’s rapid urbanization and development goals. Road infrastructure projects such as this are essential components of regional growth strategies, aiming to improve connectivity and economic activity in areas like Telangana. Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited, the project’s client, focuses on developing infrastructure to support the Hyderabad metropolitan area and its surroundings.

The execution of this project within eight months demonstrates the tight schedules often faced by firms in this sector, requiring efficient project management and engineering capabilities. Winning such contracts can contribute to NCC’s future revenue streams and improve its business outlook amid a competitive and fluctuating market environment.

While the recent stock performance reflects investor caution, the new order could help stabilize NCC’s financial prospects if executed successfully. The company’s ability to deliver large-scale infrastructure projects on time and within budget will remain a key factor for market confidence going forward.

Investors and market watchers will likely monitor NCC’s progress on this Telangana road development, assessing how the company navigates current challenges while capitalizing on new opportunities in India’s expanding infrastructure landscape.
