Groww Parent Company Reports 54% Profit Growth, Revenue Up 44% in Q2 FY27
Billionbrains Garage Ventures, the parent firm behind the popular stockbroking platform Groww, announced a significant rise in its financial performance for the quarter ending September 2026. The company posted a 54 per cent increase in profit after tax, reaching ₹725 crore, compared to ₹471.34 crore in the same quarter last year. This boost reflects the company’s expanding income streams and greater contributions from its diverse business units.
For the July to September period of FY27, total income climbed 44 per cent to ₹1,540.54 crore, up from ₹1,071 crore a year earlier. This growth showcases the company’s ability to capitalize on multiple revenue channels amid evolving market conditions. Headquartered in Bengaluru, Billionbrains Garage Ventures highlighted these results in a recent filing with the stock exchange.
Among the notable areas of growth were the margin trading facility (MTF) and commodity derivatives segments, which both contributed more robustly to the company’s overall income. These areas have benefited from increased trading activity and customer engagement. However, the equity derivatives segment experienced a decline in its share of total revenue compared to the previous year. This shift is attributed to market adjustments following the implementation of the Closing Auction System (CAS), a structural change in trading mechanisms.
The company expressed confidence that income from equity derivatives will recover once certain regulatory recommendations come into force. Specifically, it pointed to anticipated measures from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) consultation paper, which are expected to positively impact the segment’s performance.
In addition to its core trading services, Billionbrains Garage Ventures is focusing on scaling its newer business verticals, particularly wealth management. The company’s assets under management (AUM) for its wealth business surpassed ₹10,000 crore by the end of September 2026, marking a significant milestone in its growth strategy. This expansion is indicative of growing investor trust and the company’s ability to attract and manage client funds effectively.
The asset management company (AMC) arm of Billionbrains also reported substantial growth, with its AUM rising to ₹7,179 crore, up from ₹2,928 crore previously. This rapid increase underscores the company’s success in broadening its product offerings and enhancing its market presence in asset management.
Shares of Billionbrains Garage Ventures responded positively to the quarterly results, trading 0.77 per cent higher at ₹195.30 on the Bombay Stock Exchange in afternoon trading. The market’s favorable reaction reflects investor confidence in the company’s growth trajectory and diversified business model.
Groww, launched in 2016, has emerged as a leading player in India’s online investing space, offering retail investors easy access to stocks, mutual funds, and other financial instruments through a user-friendly digital platform. Its parent company’s strong quarterly performance highlights the increasing adoption of digital investing solutions in India and growing investor participation.
The financial services sector in India continues to evolve rapidly, driven by technological innovation and changing customer preferences. Companies like Billionbrains Garage Ventures are capitalizing on these trends by expanding their product suites and scaling asset management operations. This approach not only diversifies revenue but also positions them well to benefit from long-term market growth.
As regulation and market structures continue to mature, firms within this space must adapt to maintain profitability and competitive advantage. Billionbrains’ results demonstrate effective navigation of these dynamics through strategic growth initiatives and a focus on emerging business lines alongside traditional stockbroking services.
