Augment India Holdings Plans Rs 1,063 Crore Block Sale in CleanMax Enviro
Augment India Holdings LLC is set to divest 85 lakh shares in Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions, which amounts to a 7.25% stake in the renewable power company. The transaction is expected to be executed through a block deal with an estimated value of Rs 1,062.8 crore. The floor price for this share sale has been fixed at Rs 1,250 each, potentially offering a discount of up to 10% compared to the prevailing market price.
Data from the Bombay Stock Exchange indicates that as of June 30, 2026, Augment India Holdings owned 1,11,40,172 shares, representing a 9.50% stake in Clean Max Enviro. The proposed share sale would reduce their holding by just over 7%.
On the trading front, shares of Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions closed at Rs 1,392.55 on the BSE on Friday, reflecting a modest gain of 0.54% from the previous close of Rs 1,385.05. During the trading session, the stock fluctuated between Rs 1,385 and Rs 1,475. At this valuation, the company’s market capitalization stood at Rs 16,369.34 crore.
Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions has been attracting significant attention from leading brokerage houses recently. On September 23, Macquarie, a prominent global financial services firm, initiated coverage on the stock with an Outperform rating and set a target price of Rs 1,700. This move came shortly after JM Financial also began coverage with a Buy rating, reinforcing investor interest.
Macquarie’s analysis projects that Clean Max’s installed power capacity is likely to more than double to approximately 8 gigawatts by the fiscal year 2029. The brokerage highlights that Clean Max’s strength lies in its repeat business from commercial and industrial (C&I) clients, alongside growth opportunities in data and artificial intelligence-related energy contracts. These sectors are expected to fuel long-term earnings growth in India’s underdeveloped C&I renewables market.
According to Macquarie, C&I consumers use over half of India’s electricity, with about two-thirds depending on comparatively costly distribution company (DISCOM) power. The brokerage anticipates that renewable energy adoption in this segment will outpace overall demand growth, driven by corporate efforts to reduce energy costs by as much as 35% while also pursuing sustainability goals.
Macquarie characterizes Clean Max as a corporate energy platform rather than a standard independent power producer, citing its extensive customer base of roughly 600 clients, multistate regulatory expertise, and integrated energy solutions. Repeat business from C&I customers offers stable growth, while newer data and AI contracts, which make up around 42% of contracted capacity, provide additional upside potential.
The brokerage’s optimistic scenario assumes annual capacity additions exceeding 2 gigawatts and an EBITDA compound annual growth rate above 60% from fiscal years 2026 to 2029. However, it also flags risks related to regulatory changes, project execution challenges, and potential equity dilution.
JM Financial’s outlook similarly supports Clean Max’s prospects, assigning a Buy rating and a target price of Rs 1,501. The brokerage sees sustained demand in the C&I sector, spurred by rising electrification, increasing captive power requirements amid power deficits, and rapid data center expansion. JM Financial notes Clean Max’s leadership position and strong customer loyalty as key advantages in capturing this growth. The stock is valued at 10.5 times estimated EBITDA for fiscal year 2028.
Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions operates in the renewable energy sector, focusing on solar and other clean power generation solutions tailored for commercial and industrial customers. This segment is gaining traction in India as businesses seek to cut energy costs and reduce carbon footprints amid the country’s broader energy transition goals.
The planned block deal by Augment India Holdings could influence Clean Max’s shareholding pattern and may impact short-term stock liquidity. Investors will be watching closely how the market responds to this sizeable stake sale, especially in the context of recent positive brokerage reports.
