Emcure Pharma Q2FY27 Profit Jumps 34% as Revenue Hits ₹2,820 Crore
Emcure Pharmaceuticals announced a significant rise in its consolidated net profit for the second quarter of the financial year 2027, reporting ₹325.5 crore, which marks a 33.7 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. The company also saw its revenue from operations climb by 24.2 per cent, reaching ₹2,820.4 crore, driven mainly by robust performance in both its international and domestic segments.
The pharmaceutical firm’s growth was further highlighted by sequential gains from the first quarter of FY27, with revenue increasing 9.3 per cent and net profit edging up 10.7 per cent. These results were shared with the market during trading hours, after which Emcure’s shares gained 5.3 per cent, closing at ₹1,982.50 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Satish Mehta, who serves as chairman, managing director, and CEO of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, commented on the quarter’s outcomes, noting, "Q2 was another strong quarter for Emcure, with broad-based growth in revenue, profitability and earnings. We expect business momentum to sustain into H2FY27."
The domestic market contributed ₹1,155.3 crore to the company's revenue, marking a 12 per cent year-on-year increase. This growth was particularly driven by the women’s health, cardio-metabolic, and central nervous system (CNS) product categories. Additionally, the company’s product Poviztra gained traction, while consumer health brands Bitter Drops and Galact also performed well.
International operations accounted for 59 per cent of the consolidated revenue, generating ₹1,665.2 crore, a substantial 34.5 per cent rise over the previous year. Emcure’s European business expanded by 36 per cent, reaching ₹604.3 crore, with notable contributions from the UK and continental Europe. This growth was supported by the ongoing scale-up of Liposomal Amphotericin B, an important product in the company’s portfolio.
Canada’s market posted a 24 per cent increase in sales to ₹431.2 crore, while the rest of the world (RoW) segment surged 41.1 per cent to ₹629.7 crore. This wider international growth was fueled by strong sales in the antiretroviral (ARV) segment and the successful launch of new products.
During the quarter, Emcure secured over 20 new product approvals across a mix of developed and emerging markets, highlighting its focus on expanding its product pipeline. The company also filed the Lenacapavir injection dossier with both the World Health Organization (WHO) and the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), marking a key step in regulatory processes.
Research and development (R&D) remains a priority, with Emcure investing ₹111 crore in the quarter, which represents roughly 4 per cent of its revenue. This commitment reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to innovate and maintain competitiveness in the global pharmaceutical sector.
Emcure Pharmaceuticals operates in a highly competitive industry where innovation, regulatory approvals, and market expansion are critical to sustained growth. The company’s diversified portfolio and geographic reach allow it to capture opportunities across multiple segments, including branded generics, specialty medicines, and consumer health products. Its strong performance in Q2FY27 suggests positive momentum going into the latter half of the financial year.
