D-Mart Reports 18% Rise in Q2 Revenue, Expands to 518 Stores

Avenue Supermarts, the parent company of the popular retail chain D-Mart, disclosed an 18.4 percent increase in its standalone revenue for the second quarter ending September 30, 2026. The company reported revenue from operations at Rs 19,206.18 crore, a significant jump from Rs 16,218.79 crore recorded during the same quarter last year.

This growth also represents a 4.7 percent rise compared to the previous quarter's revenue of Rs 18,343.49 crore, highlighting steady progress in the company’s financial performance over recent months. The data was shared publicly through a regulatory filing released on Saturday.

D-Mart operates as a key player in India’s retail sector, offering an extensive range of essential home and personal care products. The brand has carved a niche for itself across several states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, the National Capital Region, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, and Rajasthan. Its focus on affordability and value has helped maintain a strong customer base.

As of September 30, 2026, the total number of D-Mart stores reached 518 across the country. This figure includes the Sanpada store in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, which is temporarily closed due to reconstruction work. The company continues to expand its footprint, reflecting its commitment to increasing accessibility and convenience for shoppers.

Founded and promoted by Radhakishan Damani and his family, Avenue Supermarts has steadily grown over the years to become one of India’s leading retail chains. D-Mart’s business model focuses on providing everyday products at competitive prices, targeting value-conscious consumers in urban and semi-urban markets.

The retail sector in India has seen considerable shifts recently, driven by changes in consumer behavior, increasing digital penetration, and a growing middle class. Within this context, D-Mart's consistent revenue growth and store expansion demonstrate its resilience and ability to capture market share amid evolving competition.

Investors and market watchers will likely view these results as a positive indicator of the company’s operational health and growth potential. With a wide presence across multiple states and a steady increase in sales, Avenue Supermarts is positioned to benefit from India’s expanding retail landscape.

The company’s financial updates come at a time when India’s retail sector is adapting to new challenges, including supply chain disruptions and changing consumer preferences post-pandemic. D-Mart’s performance underscores its effective management strategies and focus on core retail fundamentals.

Looking ahead, the company’s expansion plans could further enhance its market position. By increasing store counts and potentially diversifying its product range, Avenue Supermarts aims to deepen its reach and cater to a broader audience.

Overall, the Q2 fiscal results reinforce D-Mart’s standing as a prominent player in India’s retail ecosystem. The combination of solid revenue growth and ongoing store additions suggests that the company is on a steady trajectory, adapting well to the dynamics of the retail market.
