Top Wall Street Analysts Highlight Growth Potential in CoreWeave, Palo Alto Networks, Amazon
September closed with mixed results for major U.S. equity indexes. The S&P 500 slipped 0.5%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 4.3%. Conversely, the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.9%, buoyed by technology-driven optimism. Despite this, investor sentiment remained cautious amid rising oil prices and increasing Treasury yields, feeding concerns about potential additional interest rate hikes.
In this uncertain environment, investors focused on long-term opportunities might find value in the latest insights from top Wall Street analysts. These experts have recently upgraded their views on three notable stocks, each positioned to benefit from key market trends such as artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and e-commerce.
CoreWeave: Capitalizing on AI Cloud Demand
CoreWeave (CRWV), a cloud computing company specializing in AI-driven workloads, has attracted renewed attention. JPMorgan analyst Samik Chatterjee upgraded CoreWeave’s rating from hold to buy, raising the price target to $125 from $120. Chatterjee pointed to CoreWeave’s strategic shift toward higher-priced, shorter-term contracts, which should improve revenue and margins.
Despite some investor concerns about elevated capital expenditures, Chatterjee believes rising prices and margin expansion will offset increased debt levels. He highlighted a 25% price increase implemented in July and noted that competitors like Nebius (NBIS) are charging significantly more for short-term compute contracts. CoreWeave’s recent contracts, reportedly around $40 million per megawatt, underscore its ability to capitalize on growing demand. JPMorgan estimates these price hikes contribute 5 to 10 percentage points to contract margins compared to earlier deals.
Chatterjee ranks among the top analysts tracked by TipRanks, with a 75% success rate and an average return of 55.3%. His positive outlook on CoreWeave reflects confidence in the company’s positioning within the expanding AI cloud computing sector.
Palo Alto Networks: Expanding Beyond Hardware Security
Cybersecurity provider Palo Alto Networks (PANW) has evolved significantly over the past five years. Once known primarily for hardware firewalls, the company now generates more than 35% of revenue from high-growth software solutions such as Prisma SASE, Cortex XSIAM, Chronosphere, and Idira. BTIG analyst Gray Powell maintained a buy rating on PANW and increased the price target to $425 from $404 after discussions with company management.
Powell forecasts Palo Alto Networks will achieve over 17% pro forma revenue growth and more than 26% growth in next-generation security (NGS) annual recurring revenue (ARR) by fiscal 2027, exceeding consensus estimates. He noted the business has diversified well beyond hardware-centric offerings, with hardware firewalls and related subscriptions now accounting for less than half of the company’s revenue.
The analyst also expressed optimism about several emerging areas within Palo Alto’s portfolio, including observability through Chronosphere, identity security with CyberArk, and AI-powered network security solutions. Powell is ranked among the top 500 analysts on TipRanks, with a 61% success rate and an average return of 17.3%.
Amazon: Resilient Amid Evolving Commerce Trends
Amazon (AMZN), a dominant player in both e-commerce and cloud computing, received a reaffirmed buy rating from Rosenblatt analyst Scott Devitt, who raised his price target to $360 from $335. Despite concerns about the rise of AI shopping assistants potentially disrupting Amazon’s advertising business, Devitt considers these threats to be overstated.
He argued that even if AI agents help consumers discover products, Amazon’s strength in handling the purchase and delivery process will preserve much of its transaction value. Management believes that most shoppers will continue to start their journeys on Amazon’s platform due to superior personalization, pricing accuracy, and inventory transparency.
Devitt expects Amazon’s retail operations to benefit overall from the growth of agentic commerce. While some sponsored ad revenue might decline, this would represent a small fraction of the company’s total business and could be offset by gains in other segments. He also highlighted strong growth prospects for Amazon Web Services (AWS), forecasting a year-end growth rate exceeding 45% alongside improving margins.
With a 49% success rate and an average return of 12%, Devitt is among the respected analysts monitored by TipRanks. His bullish stance reflects confidence in Amazon’s robust infrastructure and physical fulfillment capabilities, which provide a competitive advantage in a shifting retail landscape.
These three companies illustrate how strategic positioning in AI cloud computing, cybersecurity innovation, and e-commerce adaptability can drive growth potential despite broader market uncertainties. Investors looking for exposure to these dynamic sectors may find value in the insights of seasoned Wall Street analysts whose track records combine strong performance and thoughtful analysis.
