Jigar Patel Recommends Omnitech Eng, IT BEES, Laxmi Organic for Short-Term Gains

The Indian stock market has experienced a downturn for eight straight weeks ending October 1, marking its longest such period in 25 years. Several factors contributed to this decline, including persistent foreign portfolio investor selling, rising global bond yields, high crude oil prices, and concerns over tighter monetary policies.

Despite the ongoing pressure, the Nifty index has managed to hold the crucial support level of 22,200. Similarly, the Nifty 500 index has maintained its long-term uptrend, offering some optimism following recent sell-offs.

Jigar S. Patel, Senior Manager of Equity Technical Research at Anand Rathi Share and Stock Brokers, pointed out that the market is at an important juncture. He noted that the Nifty’s daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) has dropped to multi-month lows, indicating the market is deeply oversold. This condition often leads to short-term stabilization or a relief rally. However, Patel emphasized that the 22,200 level remains critical, with 21,900 serving as the next key support. On the upside, resistance lies between 22,800 and 23,200, and a sustained rise above this range could signal easing selling pressure and the potential for a stronger recovery.

Regarding the Bank Nifty, Patel mentioned that a drop below 54,000 could push it down to 53,000, while 55,500 remains a significant resistance point.

Recommended Stocks for Short-Term Investment

Omnitech Engineering
Patel highlighted Omnitech Engineering as a strong candidate for short-term buying. The stock broke out decisively above ₹575 after nearly a month of consolidation, accompanied by a notable increase in trading volumes, which indicates renewed investor interest. The daily RSI holding above 60 and the weekly RSI above 70 reflect solid momentum across both short- and medium-term periods. The Directional Movement Index (DMI) also supports this bullish trend.

Patel advised that investors could consider accumulating shares within the ₹590 to ₹610 range rather than chasing prices higher. He set a target price of ₹700 and recommended a stop loss at ₹550 to manage risk. Sustained trading above ₹575 would help maintain the positive momentum.

IT BEES
IT BEES also shows encouraging technical signals. Patel observed that the stock has exhibited a combination of regular bullish divergence followed by hidden bullish divergence on both the IT Index and IT BEES itself. Initially, IT BEES formed lower price lows while the RSI registered higher lows, signaling diminishing selling pressure. Subsequently, the stock surpassed its previous high of ₹35.50 to reach ₹36.98, with the RSI rising above 70, indicating strengthening momentum.

After this rally, IT BEES corrected to the ₹31 level, but the RSI did not confirm a corresponding lower low, producing a hidden bullish divergence. This pattern suggests that the uptrend remains intact and momentum is improving.

Given these technical factors, Patel recommended buying IT BEES in the ₹29.50 to ₹31.50 range with a stop loss at ₹27 on a closing basis. The target price was set at ₹39.13.

Laxmi Organic Industries
Laxmi Organic Industries has presented a positive reversal pattern on the daily chart, supported by bullish divergence. While the daily RSI has formed lower lows, the price has not followed suit, indicating weakening selling pressure and gradually improving momentum. Additionally, the stock found support near its key trendline and around both the 50-day and 200-day exponential moving averages (DEMA), creating a strong confluence of support.

Patel suggested accumulating Laxmi Organic shares in the ₹178 to ₹182 zone during dips. He recommended a stop loss at ₹170 on a closing basis and set a target price of ₹201. Maintaining price action above these support levels is crucial for sustaining the positive reversal.

Market Context and Considerations

The Indian equity market has been under strain due to a mix of local and global pressures. Foreign portfolio investors have been net sellers, influenced by global interest rate trends and energy costs. Meanwhile, key indices like the Nifty and Bank Nifty are navigating critical support and resistance levels, which will determine near-term market direction.

Technical analysis remains a valuable tool for traders and investors seeking to time entries and exits amid volatility. The stocks highlighted by Patel represent sectors and companies where technical indicators point toward potential short-term gains, provided investors adhere to risk management strategies such as stop-loss levels.

As always, market conditions can shift quickly, and investors should consult certified financial advisors before making investment decisions. This article is intended to provide informational insights and does not constitute investment advice.
