Bajaj Housing Finance Q2 Profit Jumps 18% to ₹757 Crore
Bajaj Housing Finance revealed a significant increase in its financial performance for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027, reporting an 18 percent rise in net profit after tax. The company’s profit climbed to ₹757 crore in the July-September period, up from ₹643 crore during the same quarter last year.
Alongside the profit growth, the firm also saw its total income expand by 18.3 percent, reaching ₹3,251 crore compared to ₹2,748 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. This improvement indicates steady growth in the company’s operations and revenue streams amid a competitive housing finance market.
Net interest income, a key indicator of core profitability for lending companies, rose by 10 percent to ₹1,055 crore, up from ₹956 crore in the second quarter of FY26. Bajaj Housing Finance’s ability to increase net interest income reflects effective management of its lending portfolio and interest margins despite macroeconomic challenges.
In terms of asset quality, the company recorded a reduction in loan losses and provisions, which dropped to ₹35 crore during the quarter from ₹43 crore a year earlier. This decline in credit costs suggests improving asset quality and effective risk control measures, which are critical in maintaining financial stability and investor confidence.
The company’s assets under management (AUM) surged by 25 percent year-on-year, reaching ₹1.58 lakh crore as of September 30, 2026. This growth from ₹1.27 lakh crore a year ago demonstrates strong loan book expansion, driven by rising demand for housing finance and Bajaj Housing Finance’s ability to capture market share in the sector.
Bajaj Housing Finance operates in a segment that plays a vital role in the Indian economy by enabling homeownership through affordable credit products. The housing finance industry has seen steady growth supported by government initiatives, low interest rates, and increasing urbanization, which fuels demand for residential properties.
Despite challenges such as interest rate fluctuations and regulatory changes, companies like Bajaj Housing Finance continue to expand by offering diversified loan products and maintaining disciplined credit practices. Their financial results provide insight into the health of the housing finance sector and its contribution to the broader financial services industry.
As the company moves forward, maintaining asset quality while scaling operations will be crucial for sustaining profitability and shareholder value. The positive results for Q2 FY27 suggest that Bajaj Housing Finance is on a stable trajectory, leveraging market opportunities in housing finance while managing risks prudently.
Investors and market observers often watch quarterly performance metrics such as net profit, total income, net interest income, provisions, and assets under management to assess the financial health and growth prospects of housing finance companies. Bajaj Housing Finance’s latest figures reflect a balanced combination of growth and risk management that is necessary in this sector.
The company’s performance in the second quarter adds to the narrative of steady recovery and expansion within the Indian housing finance market, which remains a key pillar in the country’s economic development strategy. Continued urban housing demand, supported by demographic trends and policy support, is expected to drive future growth for firms in this industry.
