Apollo Hospitals Q2 Profit Jumps 32% to ₹630 Crore; Revenue Climbs 23%
Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Limited (AHEL), one of India's largest healthcare providers, announced a 32 percent increase in its consolidated net profit for the second quarter of the 2026-27 fiscal year. The net profit rose to ₹630 crore, up from ₹477 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Alongside this, the company’s consolidated revenue jumped 23 percent, reaching ₹7,615 crore compared to ₹6,189 crore in Q2 of the previous fiscal year.
The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (Ebitda) also showed significant growth, climbing 29 percent to ₹1,191 crore from ₹924 crore in the same quarter last year. These figures indicate robust operational performance amid growing demand for healthcare services.
Krishnan Akhileswaran, Chief Financial Officer of Apollo Hospitals, highlighted that all three business segments contributed positively to the quarter’s results. He said, “We have seen good growth in hospitals, mainly in specialties like cardiac, oncology, gastroenterology, and orthopedics. International patient inflow increased by 37 percent, supported by a recovery in demand from Bangladesh as well as steady contributions from Africa and Europe.”
Breaking down the healthcare services division, revenue for this segment reached ₹3,900 crore in Q2FY27, marking a 23 percent rise from ₹3,169 crore a year earlier. Ebitda for healthcare services was ₹937 crore, up 20 percent from ₹780 crore in Q2FY26. Net profit for this segment increased 19 percent year-on-year, to ₹486 crore from ₹408 crore.
Prathap C Reddy, the founder and chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group, expressed optimism about the company’s progress. He noted, “The performance this quarter was supported by revenue growth driven by a robust volume increase in our specialty departments. I am encouraged by the advancement across our businesses and the contribution from each hospital towards the Group’s overall growth.”
The company’s diluted earnings per share from continuing operations stood at ₹43.71 during this quarter. Hospital occupancy rates were healthy, with an overall occupancy of 73 percent and 76 percent in established units, reflecting efficient utilization of capacity.
Looking ahead, Apollo Hospitals has an ambitious expansion plan in place. The group intends to add 5,800 capacity beds and 4,700 census beds over the next five years. This expansion will require a capital expenditure of ₹7,100 crore, which the company plans to finance through internal accruals, demonstrating financial discipline and confidence in organic growth.
The diagnostics and retail business, operating under Apollo Health and Lifestyle Ltd (AHLL), also reported solid performance. Revenues in this segment grew 20 percent year-on-year in Q2FY27. The diagnostics division alone achieved a 24 percent increase in revenue. Apollo’s HealthCo division expanded its footprint by opening 222 new stores, bringing the total to 222 stores. Gross merchandise value (GMV) for this segment rose 27 percent to ₹571 crore from ₹450 crore a year ago.
On the infrastructure front, Apollo Hospitals is advancing construction and commissioning of new facilities. Reddy mentioned ongoing progress at hospitals located in the Financial District of Hyderabad, Sonarpur in Kolkata, and Sarjapur in Bengaluru, which began operations in the first quarter of FY27. Additionally, the Gurugram hospital project is on schedule for commissioning in the third quarter of FY27.
As India’s healthcare sector continues to grow, driven by rising demand for specialized care and increasing international patient inflows, Apollo Hospitals remains positioned to capitalize on these trends. The company’s focus on expanding capacity and enhancing service offerings across various specialties underpins its steady financial growth and market leadership.
