Diwali Credit Card Discounts from HDFC, ICICI, SBI, Axis, Kotak
As Diwali approaches, several leading credit card issuers in India are rolling out a variety of discounts and deals across multiple sectors including travel, electronics, and online shopping. These offers come with different terms depending on the bank, card type, purchase value, and whether payments are made via equated monthly instalments (EMIs).
Data compiled by BankBazaar as of October 24, 2026, highlights some of the prominent discounts currently available. Kotak Mahindra Bank cardholders can avail up to ₹20,000 off on select travel bookings. SBI Card users have the opportunity to save up to ₹16,000 at Bajaj Electronics, while customers using HDFC Bank’s EASYEMI program can get discounts up to ₹15,000 at Vijay Sales. It is important to note that these maximum discounts may not apply to every card or transaction, as eligibility criteria such as minimum spend, specific card variants, and EMI conditions influence offer availability.
Travel Discounts from Kotak, HDFC, and ICICI
Travel bookings remain a key category for attractive savings during the festival period. Kotak Mahindra Bank provides an instant discount of up to 15%, capped at ₹20,000, on MakeMyTrip when using select credit cards. Additionally, the bank offers up to ₹7,000 off on Yatra bookings and ₹8,000 off on EaseMyTrip, both through EMI transactions.
HDFC Bank cardholders can benefit from up to ₹9,000 discount on MakeMyTrip flight bookings via EASYEMI. The bank also offers a 10% instant discount on eligible domestic hotel stays booked through Agoda, limited to ₹3,000, and a 15% reduction on Cleartrip hotel gift vouchers.
ICICI Bank extends up to 12% off on international flights booked through MakeMyTrip using credit card EMI, with a maximum discount of ₹10,000 on minimum spends of ₹10,000. For domestic flights on Goibibo, ICICI offers up to 12% off capped at ₹2,000 on a minimum purchase of ₹4,000, also on EMI transactions.
SBI Card holders can avail discounts up to ₹10,000 per card on EMI bookings with Air India. Axis Bank presents a 12% discount on flight bookings made via Yatra and up to ₹5,000 off on hotel stays booked through EMI. The bank’s Ixigo offer provides a flat 12% discount capped at ₹1,200 on EMI transactions.
Electronics Discounts from SBI, HDFC, and ICICI
Those planning to buy gadgets or home appliances will find a range of discounts across retailers. SBI Card offers up to ₹16,000 off at Bajaj Electronics on minimum purchases of ₹20,000. At Aditya Vision, the discount is capped at ₹8,000 for spends of ₹25,000 or more.
HDFC Bank’s EASYEMI scheme grants instant discounts up to ₹15,000 at Vijay Sales. Additionally, at Reliance Digital, HDFC cardholders can get a 7.5% discount capped at ₹3,000 via EASYEMI. ICICI Bank provides a 5% discount at Reliance Digital, capped at ₹12,500 on a minimum transaction of ₹10,000 using credit card EMI.
Online Shopping Offers Vary by Bank
Several banks feature Amazon discounts, though caps and eligibility differ. ICICI Bank offers a 10% discount up to ₹11,250 on minimum purchases of ₹2,490, applicable on eligible credit cards and EMI transactions. SBI Card provides a 10% instant discount for EMI transactions of at least ₹2,490, with a maximum saving of ₹49,250 per card. Axis Bank offers a 10% discount capped at ₹1,250 on non-EMI and ₹1,750 on EMI transactions.
Kotak Mahindra Bank cardholders can enjoy a 20% instant discount up to ₹10,000 on District purchases using Solitaire credit cards. Additional offers include a 12.5% discount on Tata Cliq capped at ₹1,000 for transactions over ₹3,000, and a 10% discount on Nykaa capped at ₹500 for bills above ₹4,000.
HDFC Bank cardholders benefit from accelerated reward points on e-voucher purchases from platforms such as Myntra, Ajio, Croma, and Flipkart, with reward value depending on the card and program.
Additional Benefits and Loan Offers
HDFC Bank also promotes loans against credit cards of up to ₹1 crore, accompanied by flat processing fees, gift vouchers up to ₹500 upon loan disbursal, and cash facilities extending beyond the credit limit. Customers should carefully review interest rates, repayment terms, and eligibility before applying.
Choosing the Best Offer
Evaluating offers involves more than looking at headline discounts. Consumers should consider the effective price after discounts, minimum spending requirements, maximum discount limits, and any fees tied to EMI usage. For example, a 10% discount capped at ₹1,250 might be less beneficial on a high-value purchase compared to a higher capped offer with no extra charges.
EMI transactions should be examined for interest and processing fees which can reduce the overall savings. Additionally, it is advisable to check whether offers can be combined with ongoing sales, exchange programs, or other promotions, as terms vary by card type and merchant.
These seasonal deals offer valuable opportunities for cardholders to save during the festive shopping period, provided they understand the conditions and select the offers best suited to their spending plans.
