HCL Technologies, a leading global IT services company based in Noida, announced a significant rise in its financial performance for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2027. The consolidated net profit surged by 21.18 percent to ₹5,132 crore, compared to ₹4,235 crore recorded during the same period last year. This robust profit growth reflects the company’s expanding footprint in the IT and engineering sectors.

The revenue for the quarter ending September 2026 also showed notable improvement, climbing 11.5 percent to ₹35,620 crore from ₹31,942 crore a year earlier. Sequentially, both profit and revenue marked gains of 11 percent and 3 percent respectively, indicating steady quarter-on-quarter growth.

Breaking down the revenue streams reveals that the IT and business services segment was a key growth driver. Revenue from this division rose from ₹23,693 crore in Q2 FY26 to ₹26,938 crore in the current quarter. Meanwhile, the engineering and research and development (R&D) services segment also contributed positively, with revenues increasing to ₹5,973 crore from ₹5,423 crore in the year-ago quarter.

However, the company’s software business experienced a slight decline. Revenue from HCL Software dipped to ₹2,709 crore, down from ₹2,826 crore in the same period last year. Despite this, the overall financial results present a strong performance amid a competitive market environment.

HCLTech has been steadily growing its service offerings across IT, business services, and engineering, which has helped it maintain a diversified portfolio. The company’s focus on digital transformation, cloud computing, and engineering solutions aligns with broader industry trends where enterprises are increasingly investing in technology to enhance operational efficiency and innovation.

The IT services sector continues to be a critical contributor to India’s economy, with companies like HCLTech playing a vital role in providing technology solutions worldwide. The growth in engineering and R&D services also reflects rising demand for product development and innovation support from global clients.

HCLTech’s results come at a time when the global IT services landscape is facing both challenges and opportunities. On one hand, inflationary pressures and geopolitical uncertainties persist; on the other, digital adoption across industries is accelerating, creating new avenues for growth. The company’s ability to expand its revenue base and improve profitability signals resilience and adaptability in this dynamic sector.

As one of India’s top IT firms, HCLTech’s quarterly performance is closely watched by investors and market analysts for indications of the sector’s health. The strong showing in Q2 FY27 underscores the company’s continued momentum and strategic execution.

Looking ahead, HCLTech is expected to keep focusing on enhancing its service capabilities and expanding its client base globally. The company’s investments in emerging technologies and innovation are likely to support sustained growth in the coming quarters.

In summary, HCL Technologies’ Q2 FY27 financial results highlight a 21.18 percent increase in net profit to ₹5,132 crore and an 11.5 percent rise in revenue to ₹35,620 crore. Growth in IT and business services along with engineering and R&D segments offset a minor decline in software revenues, presenting a broadly positive performance for the quarter.
