Diamond Power Infrastructure Secures Rs 116.49 Cr Orders for 11 kV XLPE Cables

Diamond Power Infrastructure has recently obtained orders totaling Rs 116.49 crore, including GST, for the supply of 11 kV XLPE insulated medium voltage power cables. Excluding GST, the value of these orders stands at Rs 98.72 crore. These contracts have been awarded directly by an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor based in Gujarat. This contractor is engaged in executing underground cabling projects on behalf of state power distribution companies within Gujarat.

The secured orders require the delivery of approximately 655 kilometers of 11 kV three-core aluminium XLPE cables. These cables come in varying cross-sectional sizes of 300, 240, 95, and 70 square millimeters. The cables are designated for urban underground power distribution initiatives specifically in the Bhavnagar and Ahmedabad regions. This expansion of underground infrastructure aligns with broader efforts to modernize and strengthen power distribution networks in urban areas, enhancing reliability and reducing outages.

Manufacturing of these cables will take place at Diamond Power Infrastructure's integrated facility located near Vadodara. This plant benefits from vertical integration, sourcing aluminium from DICABS' own rod mills, which can contribute to quality control and supply chain efficiency. The delivery schedule for the cables is structured in multiple lots, each contingent upon manufacturing clearances and subject to inspection and testing procedures as prescribed by the utility companies receiving the cables.

The order contracts are based on a variable pricing model. While the stated Rs 116.49 crore figure represents the base price included in the agreements, the final financial realization depends on applicable price variation formulas. This allows adjustments based on changes in raw material costs or other economic factors during the contract period. Additionally, orders worth Rs 79.83 crore (including GST) are conditional upon the EPC contractor receiving the formal Letter of Award from the end utility, indicating ongoing progress in project approvals and funding.

Diamond Power Infrastructure operates within the medium voltage power cable sector, which is critical for urban power distribution networks.
