Akasa Air Launches Daily Direct Flights to Jaipur from Mumbai and Bengaluru
Akasa Air has officially entered the Rajasthan market, launching daily direct flights linking Jaipur with Mumbai and Bengaluru from October 11, 2026. This move marks a significant step in the airline's strategy to broaden its network and enhance connectivity within key Indian cities.
In addition to the Jaipur routes, the airline plans to commence operations from Udaipur starting October 15, further strengthening its footprint in the state. These new routes aim to provide convenient travel options for both business and leisure passengers traveling to and from Rajasthan.
The inaugural flight from Jaipur to Bengaluru is scheduled to depart at 11.30 am on Sunday, with an expected arrival time of 2 pm. Meanwhile, the Mumbai-Jaipur daily service will leave Mumbai at 9.10 am and land in Jaipur by 11.10 am. The return flight from Jaipur to Mumbai is set to take off at noon. For the Bengaluru-Jaipur route, arrivals are timed for 10.50 am, with return departures at 11.30 am.
Anand Srinivasan, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air, highlighted Rajasthan as a logical extension of the airline’s growth plans. He pointed out that Jaipur has a well-developed and varied travel market, making it an ideal city to connect with Mumbai and Bengaluru. Srinivasan explained that these routes cater to substantial passenger demand across multiple sectors, including business travelers, tourists, and others.
"Our goal is to deepen our presence in Rajasthan by offering passengers more travel choices," Srinivasan said. The airline’s entry into this region is part of a broader effort to tap into emerging markets and strengthen domestic air travel options amid growing demand.
Akasa Air, established in recent years, has quickly gained attention for its focus on affordable and efficient services. The new Rajasthan routes follow earlier expansions connecting various metropolitan and regional cities, reflecting the airline’s commitment to enhancing accessibility and convenience for travelers.
Rajasthan is a key tourism and business destination in India. Cities like Jaipur and Udaipur attract millions of visitors annually for their rich heritage, culture, and economic opportunities. Improved air connectivity helps support these sectors by reducing travel time and offering flexible scheduling.
The airline’s schedule provides daily flights, which is expected to benefit frequent flyers and those seeking last-minute travel options. By linking Jaipur with two major economic hubs—Mumbai, the financial capital of India, and Bengaluru, known as the country’s technology center—Akasa Air facilitates easier movement for professionals, entrepreneurs, and tourists alike.
As domestic air travel continues to recover and grow post-pandemic, carriers like Akasa Air are playing a vital role in expanding the aviation network beyond traditional strongholds. This expansion aligns with broader trends in the Indian aviation sector, where regional connectivity and tier-2 and tier-3 cities are receiving increased focus.
Passengers interested in these new routes can book tickets through the airline’s official channels. The introduction of these flights is expected to enhance competition on these routes, potentially leading to better fares and improved service quality.
In summary, Akasa Air’s launch of daily direct flights from Jaipur to Mumbai and Bengaluru, along with upcoming services from Udaipur, represents a meaningful increase in air travel options for Rajasthan. This development supports the state’s connectivity goals and offers travelers more choices for efficient and affordable air journeys.
