J Infratech Files IPO for Rs 600 Crore to Fund Expansion
J Infratech Ltd, a Haryana-based engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company specializing in infrastructure projects, has officially filed its draft red herring prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to launch an initial public offering (IPO) worth Rs 600 crore. This move marks a significant step for the firm as it prepares to enter the public market.
The proposed IPO consists of a fresh issue of shares amounting to Rs 600 crore. In addition to this, the promoters of the company plan to sell 1 crore equity shares through an offer for sale (OFS). There is also a possibility of a pre-IPO placement up to Rs 120 crore, which if successfully executed, will reduce the size of the fresh issue accordingly.
J Infratech was originally established in 2005 under the name Jandu Construction Co and later restructured into a private limited company in 2019, adopting its current name. The company operates primarily in the infrastructure sector, focusing on the construction of roads, highways, and bridges. It has built a reputation for handling large-scale projects that often include complex and specialized structures across various regions in India.
As of July 31, 2026, J Infratech had completed 35 projects and was actively working on 46 projects spread over 16 states and three Union Territories. This extensive project portfolio highlights the company’s substantial footprint in the Indian infrastructure development market.
The funds raised through the IPO will be allocated towards several key areas. Primarily, the capital will be used to meet working capital requirements, which are critical for the smooth operation of ongoing projects. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds will be directed towards repaying or prepaying certain borrowings, thereby improving the company’s financial health. The remaining funds are intended for general corporate purposes, which may include operational enhancements and strategic initiatives.
The company plans to list its shares on both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE), which will provide investors with easier access to trade its stock. Systematix Corporate Services has been appointed as the book-running lead manager for this offering, while KFin Technologies will serve as the registrar.
J Infratech’s entry into the public markets comes at a time when the infrastructure sector in India is gaining momentum, driven by increased government spending on road and highway development. The EPC industry is a vital component of the country’s growth strategy, as infrastructure projects create jobs and improve connectivity, which in turn can boost economic activity.
By raising capital through this IPO, J Infratech aims to strengthen its balance sheet and support its expansion plans. Investors will be watching closely to see how the company leverages the new funds to enhance its project execution capabilities and maintain its growth trajectory.
Overall, the IPO represents an opportunity for investors to participate in the growth story of a company with an established presence in India’s infrastructure sector. The successful execution of this public offering could position J Infratech for new contracts and increased market share in the competitive EPC landscape.
