JSW Dulux Announces 1:10 Stock Split With Record Date on October 22, 2026

JSW Dulux, a prominent player in the paints and coatings sector, has declared October 22, 2026, as the record date for a planned stock split. Under this proposal, each equity share with a face value of ₹10 will be divided into 10 smaller shares worth Re 1 each. This move comes after the company secured approval from its shareholders and intends to increase the total number of outstanding shares without changing the overall market capitalization.

The announcement was made through a regulatory filing on a recent Tuesday, confirming the company’s intentions to execute the 1:10 share subdivision. This decision follows the approval from the board during the June quarter and was later ratified by shareholders via a postal ballot conducted on September 20, 2026.

JSW Dulux, formerly known as Akzo Nobel India Ltd, underwent a significant transformation after JSW Paints, part of the larger JSW Group valued at around $23 billion, acquired a majority stake of 60.76% in December 2025. This acquisition was finalized through a share purchase agreement involving JSW Paints Ltd, Imperial Chemicals Industries Ltd, and Akzo Nobel Coatings International BV, marking a strategic expansion in the Indian paint industry.

A stock split typically increases the number of shares in circulation by dividing existing shares into smaller denominations. While it lowers the price per share proportionally, the company’s market value remains unchanged. Investors often see stock splits as an opportunity to improve liquidity and make shares more accessible to a wider range of buyers.

During the quarter ending June 2026, JSW Dulux reported a consolidated net profit of ₹79.7 crore, reflecting a 12.4% decline compared to ₹91 crore in the same period last year. Revenue from operations also decreased slightly by 2.82%, standing at ₹965 crore versus ₹993.1 crore in Q1 FY26. These figures indicate some pressure on the company’s performance amid market conditions.

The Indian paint industry anticipates continued double-digit growth heading into the festive season, supported by demand from housing, infrastructure, and automotive sectors. Major players including Asian Paints, Berger Paints, Kansai Nerolac, and JSW Dulux are planning price hikes to counteract rising input costs. However, intense competition remains a persistent challenge, especially across different price points.

Raw material costs tied to crude oil prices remain volatile due to ongoing geopolitical tensions. Since many paint components are petroleum derivatives, fluctuations in crude prices directly impact manufacturing expenses and pricing strategies for companies in this space.

JSW Dulux’s stock split aligns with broader corporate efforts to enhance shareholder value and adapt to evolving market dynamics following its integration into the JSW Group. As the company navigates operational challenges and sector competition, this move may help improve share liquidity and attract more investors.

Investors are advised to consult with financial professionals before making decisions related to this stock split or other investment actions involving JSW Dulux shares.
