Jio Platforms IPO Sees Record ₹2.5 Lakh Crore Demand from Institutions
Jio Platforms Limited has achieved a remarkable feat with its initial public offering (IPO) drawing aggregate institutional demand exceeding ₹2.50 lakh crore. No other IPO in the country has previously crossed this level of institutional interest.
The anchor book for this offering was valued at ₹8,110 crore and attracted a diverse group of both Indian and international investors. The strong response from these long-term investors signals robust confidence in Jio Platforms’ business prospects. Over 200 investors and more than a hundred fund schemes have committed capital, including notable global technology-focused investment firms such as Dragoneer, Janus Henderson, and Ninety One.
In addition to global players, several prominent Indian family offices are partaking in the IPO. These include the Enam family office, the Premji family office, Zerodha’s family office, and HCL’s family office. Among the anchor investors, the Fidelity Contra Fund, recognized as the world’s largest active mutual fund, has emerged as a significant participant.

Following LIC, major allocations of ₹425 crore each were made to Capital International, the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), BlackRock, Fidelity Management & Research (FMR), SBI Mutual Fund, HDFC Mutual Fund, and ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund. Capital World and Birla Mutual Fund each received an allocation of ₹300 crore.

Participation by leading domestic and global investors

Global investment firms such as BlackRock, Capital Group, Fidelity Management & Research, Schroders, JPMorgan Asset Management, Birla Mutual Fund, Kotak Mutual Fund, Nippon Mutual Fund, Allianz, T. This level of institutional interest underscores the growing attractiveness of Indian technology-focused companies in the global capital markets. Jio Platforms, backed by Reliance Industries, has rapidly expanded its digital services and technology ecosystem, making it a key player in India’s digital economy.
The overwhelming response to its IPO reflects the confidence of investors in the company’s long-term growth trajectory and India’s broader technology sector. The participation of leading sovereign wealth and pension funds is particularly noteworthy, as these investors typically seek stable, long-term returns, signaling trust in Jio’s business model and prospects.
Published on October 19, 2026, this IPO milestone highlights a significant moment for the Indian capital markets and technology sector, potentially setting the stage for more large-scale tech listings in the future.
