Rupee steady as oil firms buy dollars

The Indian rupee showed minimal movement against the dollar on Friday, closing nearly unchanged. Oil companies actively bought dollars to restrict any considerable appreciation of the rupee. State-run banks also contributed to dollar selling in the market. The rupee fluctuated within a narrow scope, revealing a slightly negative trend, while Brent crude oil prices stabilized around eighty-three to eighty-four dollars per barrel.
