The Reserve Bank of India will not close the swap window early. Robust foreign currency inflows have strengthened India’s balance of payments position. The central bank has not received any proposals for extending the deadline. This facility allows banks to swap overseas borrowings at concessional rates. The swap window has already attracted significant dollar inflows by July.
