Bank of England votes 7-2 to hold rates at 3.75%

The Bank of England has chosen to maintain interest rates at 3.75 percent, a decision that aligns with prevailing predictions among economists. Although consensus prevailed, a couple of policymakers pushed for a higher rate. As Governor Andrew Bailey notes, inflationary pressures are expected to rise, despite the prospect of a new agreement with Iran.
